Our Nursing Team have found a fantastic way to communicate with our patients who lipread, whilst still wearing face masks.

Google Live Transcribe for android phones or AVA for iPhones are real-time transcribe apps which use the microphone to listen for speech and turn it into text!

This means our staff can have a two-way conversation with patients without taking off their PPE. One of our patients who tried this for the first time has now downloaded the app herself to make communicating with those wearing face masks much easier.
