Carers Cafe
We host a monthly Carers Cafe, for anyone to drop in for a cup of tea with other carers and Salisbury's Carers Champion, Helen Dowse.
This takes place on 1st Tuesday of every month between 10am and 11.30am at Fisherton House, Salisbury Medical Practice.
If you need any further information, please telephone the surgery to speak to our Social Prescriber, Jo Baldwin.
Carers Together Wiltshire
Carers Together Wiltshire provide activities, breaks, advice, counselling, coaching, training and support (including peer-support) for carers.
A Carer Assessment
A Carer Assessment is for carers over 18 years old who are looking after another adult over 18 years old who is disabled, ill or elderly. It is an opportunity to record the impact caring has on your life and what support or services you need. The assessment will look at for example, physical, mental and emotional needs, and whether you are able or willing to carry on caring.
Young Carers
Being a young carer can be hard if you don't have help or support - don't struggle alone. Find help and advice that can help you and your family.
Looking after someone can sometimes take up a lot of time and it can sometimes be very difficult to cope with everything. Going to school, meeting up with friends and doing the things you enjoy can sometimes be hard to fit in.
If you think you might be a young carer, or you’re not too sure, and feel you need additional help and support, talk to someone you trust like your teacher at school or your doctor. You can call us on 01722 333034 and book an appointment with a GP. We have telephone and face to face appointments available from early morning to later in the evening.
They will be able to refer you to Wiltshire Council’s Young Carer team for a young carers’ assessment which will look at the support that could be offered to you and your family.
Young people and parents can now self refer for a young carer assessment.

Carers Trust is a major charity for, with and about carers.
