Flu Clinics for Under 18s

• Children in an at risk group, aged between 6 months – 17 years will be eligible for the fluenz immunisation. It is advised for all patients under the age of 18 to be immunised with the Fluenz nasal spray rather than the inactivated vaccine . (If the patient is 18 years of age or above they must have the inactivated flu vaccination).

• Children aged 2 and 3 (as at 31^st August 2019 e.g. born 01/09/15 – 31/08/17) will invited to a Fluenz Clinic, as soon as we have the Fluenz immunisation in stock.  

• Children in school years: Reception, Yr 1, Yr 2, Yr 3, Y4 and Yr 5 will be immunised at school via Virgin Health Care. We cannot immunise any children in these school years. 

Dates of Fluenz Clinics for all eligible 6 month - 17 year old patients will be available as soon as we have the Fluenz immunisation in stock. NHS England have informed us that we will be able to order supplies very soon.

We are hoping to have clinics available in the October half term. We will write to all parents of children within this age group as well as text and advertise on our website and Facebook page.
